The Practitioner Course: Reiki I & Reiki II levels will be completed (dates the same as for the Personal Courses), but you will also need to have further training to ensure that you have all the other skills necessary in order to be a "formal" Practitioner of Reiki.
If you have already studied another therapy i.e. reflexology, massage etc., it may well be that you have covered a lot of the above already and Approved Prior Learning (APL) may be given for some of the subject areas. However, the case studies and Practical examination would still need to be undertaken!

Reiki Masters training is usually undertaken on a one to one basis over one full day. However, the Master student must then assist Sue during Reiki I and Reiki II training days. You will be introduced to further symbols and these symbols are utilised during the attunement process and their practical application will be demonstrated and practised. Reiki Master students will also be required to compile their own teaching and learning materials which will then be verified.

REIKI II - The Personal CourseReiki II is held over two consecutive days 10.00 to 16.30 and having become familiar with using Reiki (hopefully on a daily basis), students are now introduced to Reiki symbols which will further enhance the skills learned in Reiki I.
There will be one further attunement which allows the use of the Reiki symbols, together with exploring their relevance and their uses. We will also build on subjects covered in Reiki I, such as chakras, colours and energy medicine.

REIKI I - The Personal CourseIf you wish to study Reiki I and Reiki II purely for personal growth and to then be able to share these Reiki skills with family, friends etc., you can learn the two levels, but this will be an "informal practice" and you will not be able to work as a paid practitioner. Reiki I will take place over two days and you will then leave sufficient time to get used to and understand Reiki energy before enrolling for Reiki II which will also be run over two days.
The amount of time in between the two levels is very much a personal decision and as we run several courses every year, there is usually an opportunity to continue that suits your own needs.
We also spend time understanding The Chakras (energy centres within our bodies) and looking at whether we need less or more of a particular colour in our daily lives. The final afternoon is spent working practically in our dedicated training room.
The two days are very special and students talk of huge personal and spiritual growth as a result. To achieve this process there are a maximum of four students per group.

What is Reiki?"Reiki is a non-invasive therapy whose purpose is to treat holistically and to restore homeostasis."The word Reiki is Japanese in origin and means 'Universal Energy'.
This energy has always been used in Eastern medicine and is recognised as an energy which flows through all living things and most importantly is vital to well-being. Other names for this energy are: 'Ki' in Japan, 'Chi' in China and 'Prana' in India. This free-flowing energy is also utilised in such therapies as Acupuncture, T'ai Chi and Yoga.
Reiki was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan as an original method of healing during the early part of the 20th century, and is activated by intention. Reiki promotes the body's self healing ability at every level.
Sue and Paul both qualified as Reiki Masters in 2000, having spent many years as Reiki practitioners. Sue is also a Master Teacher Member of the UK Reiki Federation.
It is very important to be able to trace your Reiki Lineage ( the names of the Reiki Masters ). We are very privileged to have a very direct ascendancy with only 6 (six) masters between ourselves and Mikao Usui.
Due to government legislation in January 2011, and in accordance with the guidelines as determined by the Reiki Council, the teaching of Reiki has had to change and at Inspira. You will now have the opportunity to follow different routes. These are:

- If you want to do voluntary work or be paid you have to do Reiki I, Reiki II and the Practitioner Skills Course.
- If you want to teach others Reiki, you then do Reiki III and you must also have a teaching certificate, but please read on for more details!
